General FAQ’s

What are your hours?

Our hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday 10 am – 6 pm

Saturday to Sunday 8 am – 11:30 am

We are closed after 11:30 am on weekends for private parties. We may not pick up our phone after 11:30 am on weekends due to the parties, so please email us at info@twinkleplayspace.com.

Birthday party tours are available on weekends before 11 am only. However, we’re available Monday – Friday between 10 am and 5 pm.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

For insurance purposes, every parent/guardian that enters Twinkle must sign a waiver for any child under the age of 18 that are under their care. No exceptions. Twinkle has the right to refuse entry if guardian does not sign a waiver. Birthday Party hosts are responsible to have their guests sign the waivers as well.

Do you need to wear socks to play?

Yes, all adults and children must wear socks in the play space for your safety and for hygienic purposes. Children are allowed to remove their socks in the sand box and water areas. We do have socks for purchase (children and adult size) just in case you forget!

Can I visit Twinkle just for the day?

Yes, we offer a reduced day pass price for your first visit. After your first visit, you can either purchase a daily pass, membership or our 6 visit pass. See the passes and memberships page for more information.

Can I have my own birthday party during open play hours without prior permission from Twinkle?

No, you are not allowed to have private parties, birthday parties or similar gatherings without Twinkle’s permission. No outside birthday cakes, treats and decor are allowed on any Twinkle premises during open play hours.

Is there food offered at Twinkle or a space to eat?

We do have a dedicated lounge area that has a vending machine, Keurig machine (with K-cups for purchase), bottle warmer, microwave and free Wi-fi. We currently do not offer hot food, but you’re welcome to bring in your own food (nut-free only please!), use our vending machine or order take out food.

What is the cancellation policy for membership/passes?

Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Day pass packages or 6 visit passes are refundable before the first visit.

When can I have a private event at Twinkle?

Please visit our birthday party page or call us to book a party or email birthdays@twinkleplayspace.com.

What kind of events can I hold at twinkle?

Twinkle offer events from birthday parties to first birthday parties to baby showers. However, we can custom tailor our themes or parties to anything you can think of but additional fees may apply. Please contact us further for more details.

Does a parent/guardian need to be with my child at all times?

Yes, parents and caregivers must watch their child(ren) at all times. We are not a drop-off play space or day care and all adults are responsible for the well-being and behavior of the child(ren) they are responsible for.

What is the age range of kids to bring to Twinkle?

Kids 6 years old and under are allowed in the space. Due to the specific design of the play space exhibits, we can only allow children 6 and under in the play space. We reserve the right to refuse entrance to any child who does not meet that criterion.

Is there a place to put my personal belongings?

We have areas to put shoes, jackets and stroller, but your personal belongings are your responsibility.

Can I leave and come back on the same day with my pass?

Yes! Your pass is valid for the day whether you buy a first day pass, day pass, 6 visit pass or membership. However, if you leave and it’s at capacity when you return, there is no guarantee you will be let in again until space frees up.

Is there parking available?

There is ample street parking under the BQE (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway) which is only a block away from us and street parking in front of our playspace. Please note there is alternate side parking on Tuesdays from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm and Wednesdays from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa/Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Cash. No personal checks are accepted.

Are you a nut-free facility?

We cannot guarantee that we’re a nut-free space, however, we do not allow any nuts or any nut products to be brought in or eaten at our facility.

What is your sick child policy?

Please be considerate and do not bring any child(ren) into Twinkle when they are ill or have a communicable medical condition (e.g. lice, coxsackie, strep throat, measles, whooping cough, etc.). If they have had a fever within the last 24 hours before your planned visit, please do not bring them into the playspace. We reserve the right to restrict admission and/or send the child home, when, in our opinion, that child is ill or risks the health or well being of other children. We want to keep Twinkle a healthy and safe environment for all kids to play!

Birthday Party FAQ’s

How does a typical party run?

The first hour is open play in the party space. Then we open up the party room with a small presentation and serve your guests with personal pizzas and whatever additional food you ordered in advance for the adults.

What time should my guests and I arrive for my party?

You should arrive about 5 minutes before your scheduled party time and your guests should arrive promptly at the designated time. Birthday parties are only 30 minutes apart at this time, so please do not arrive too early as there will most likely be another party going on.

Will there be a staff member available to assist me in the party room?

Yes – a staff member will be available to assist you in the party room.

How do I schedule a Twinkle party?

Is a deposit required?

A $400 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your party. The balance of the base package is due 7 days before the event and any add-ons are due and payable on the day of your party.

Is my party private or will my guests share the playspace and party room with guests from other parties?

Your party is 100% private unless you book a party during open play hours. There will not be any other people from any other parties in the playspace or party room while you are there. This allows our staff to focus solely on your group and to make the occasion special for your child.

What assistance do you provide in the party room and the playspace?

Our staff will be picking up items and tidying up the playspace during the party. We will set up the party room with our themed decor and any items you might have brought such as cake or additional decor (arranged in advance). We will take care of the birthday presents for the guest of honor and collect them at the front desk when your guests check-in. During your time in the party room, we will be there to provide more supplies or drinks, take care of spills, and check in with you from time to time to see if you need anything else.

When should I order food for our party? Give the final head count for kids and adults?

We’ll call you 12 – 14 days prior to your party to confirm your head count. At that time, you’ll have an opportunity to order pizza, sandwiches, beverages, add additional kids, and other party options if you haven’t already.

Can I bring in outside food?

You may bring a birthday cake or cupcakes to your party. Outside food is permitted for additional cost of $125. We do have an extended catering menu, call us or email us at birthdays@twinkleplayspace.com for the menu.

Can I bring my own goodie bags or add to my goodie bags and/or bring in balloons?

You can add any items you’d like to the goodie bags and our staff will be happy to add them to the goodie bags on the day of the party. You can bring in your own balloons or we can blow them up for you at an additional charge (depending on size of balloon).

Can I use my own decorations and/or paper products in the party room?

For a Basic Star Package, you are allowed to bring your own paper products and balloons only. For 3 star or 5 star packages, you can add other outside decor but additional fees may apply depending on the extent of the decor. To preserve the integrity of our party rooms, we do not permit wall or ceiling decorations, streamers, silly string or confetti. Piñatas are not allowed.

DESSERT TABLES – Dessert tables are allowed, but we will need advanced notice that you will be bringing items for a dessert table in. If you have more intricate items to set up that need our staff, there may be an extra charge.

What if I am late for my scheduled party time? What if my Guests are late?

We understand that circumstances happen, however, our parties start promptly at the scheduled time. Since there may be other parties scheduled after your party time, we may be unable to extend your party time. If your party begins after your scheduled time due to waiting for late guests, you will have less time in the playspace and, possibly, the party room.

Can I add an extra hour?

Yes, you can add an extra hour for a fee of $250 per hour (at least 7 days advanced notice) and only during the last time slot at 4:45 – 6:45 pm on weekends and 5 – 7 pm, 6 – 8 pm on weekdays and only PENDING AVAILABILITY. If you want to add on the day of, if there is availability and no scheduled maintenance, there will be a charge of $350 per hour.
